I inhale once, twice, three times lost in a trance of pure emotion at the beauty before me. That smell, it’s unlike anything else in the world. I smell the crisp edges of toast charred to the perfect golden brown, the steam rolling off the cheese in waves sent straight from heaven. I open my mouth, taste buds tingling as they wait for their favorite treat. That’s it! Eureka! As I chew I can hear the bread breaking into those delicious morsels my stomach begs for. I hear the symphony of pure ecstasy my taste buds sing as their thanks. My eyes close. That one lone tear of pure happiness leaks out, runs down my face and onto the now empty plate. My eyes open, my hands stop shaking, my breath leaks out in a sigh of despair, and my taste buds stop singing their beautiful song. All is quiet.
