Setting Project - Students had to create a non-prose piece that exhibited setting for their ongoing story that they had been working on all semester. The results are always some of my favorites.
Voice Project - Students wrote 2 versions of the same story. The purpose for this was to emphasize different points of view and to show how the same story differs depending on who is telling it. The following authors are showcased in this project
Arnav Agarwal - Cosmic Confinement & Friends? Declan Mitchell - The Race of Life & Memoir of Irvin Hoerr Cerina Sites - Finally Finding a Home & A New Beginning |

Garbology Students are tasked with bringing in 5 pieces of garbage. They later pick someone else's garbage and create a character based on the garbage in the bag. Characters do NOT have to be based on the classmate they think brought the bag, but rather should be a character they think is appropriate for the garbage included.

Personal Stories One of the first projects students were assigned was to write about themselves through a non-human perspective and without any humans in the story. The concept can be challenging for a lot of people. Here are some of the stories.

Journals are done every Tuesday. Throughout the semester, students will be chosen to have their work shared online. Students can decline the offer, and some students may accept the offer but request their identity be withheld publicly (student privacy is respected). For those who accept, journals are published "as is," which is usually from free-writing. Click the buttons to peruse the works and please feel free to share any comments or questions. Enjoy!
